Protecting the Hearts of Our Community

cardiac patient with physicianThe Medical Society of South Carolina continues to make a meaningful impact on the health of our community through its financial support of an array of community organizations. Through Roper St. Francis, the Medical Society funds HeartSave, a community health initiative that has placed automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in more than 300 public places throughout the Charleston area including schools, churches, restaurants and medical facilities. As you know, AEDs are safe and easy to use, making it possible for non-medical personnel to be trained to provide rapid defibrillation. See the more than 300 area HeartSave locations.
