The Quarterly Business Meeting of the Medical Society of South Carolina is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the Riviera, 227 King Street, Charleston, SC. Our business meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with heavy hors d‘oeuvres at 8 p.m. The meeting agenda, and the November 2012 meeting minutes can be found here.
On June 30, 2013, the terms of Brantley D. Thomas, Ph.D., MSSC At-Large Layperson Director and William B. Ellison, Jr., Physician At-Large Director, serving on the Roper St. Francis Board of Directors representing the Medical Society of South Carolina, will expire. Both Drs. Ellison and Thomas are ineligible to serve a consecutive term three-year on the Board of Directors. The MSSC Board of Directors is proposing Jeffrey Rieder, M.D. for the Physician At-Large Director seat and Mrs. Mary Thornley, President, Trident Technical College, for the seat of Layperson At-Large Director. Both nominees have agreed to serve if elected by the Membership.
On February 26th, the floor will be opened for additional nominations and then the nominations will close. The Membership will vote at the April 23, 2013 Quarterly Meeting. If you nominate a member for the board seat at the February 26th meeting, it is important that you speak with them in advance to know if they are eligible to be nominated, will accept the nomination and be willing to serve if elected.
