Roper St. Francis Healthcare/CAHS Selects New CEO
A hospital executive from New Orleans was selected to head CareAlliance Health Services as President and CEO. David L. Dunlap, FACHE, served as CEO at Memorial Medical Center, a 615 bed two-hospital medical center, consisting of the former Southern Baptist and Mercy Hospitals. David Dunlap's career began in 1969 and he has consistently moved upward within the industry, always in the south or southwest. He spent more than 13 years in Oklahoma City where he negotiated and was a principal figure in the creation of the Joint Operating Agreement between the Oklahoma University Hospital Trust and Presbyterian Hospital (an HCA unit), one of the first public -private joint ventures in the US. As a result, he was President and CEO of University Health Partners, consisting of 6 acute-general hospitals and other facilities across the state. He has a Masters in Health Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, and received his Bachelor of Business from the University of Memphis. David and his wife, Pamela, have three grown children.
