Lorraine Lutton Selected As New President & CEO of RSFH

Lorraine LuttonLorraine Lutton, a senior healthcare leader with more than 24 years experience in the industry, has been selected as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of Roper St. Francis. Lutton is the first woman to be chosen to lead the private, not-for-profit healthcare system in its 150-year history. Chosen after an exhaustive national search and with the full endorsement of the Roper St. Francis Board of Directors and Carolinas HealthCare System leadership, Lutton begins her new position on November 14.

Lutton comes to the Lowcountry after 24 years with the BayCare Health System in Tampa, Florida, a community-based healthcare system made of 14 not-for-profit hospitals and outpatient facilities with more than 25,000 employees. During her tenure in Tampa, she improved its patient satisfaction scores on a federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services survey, directed a $114 million master facility construction project, and developed specialty programs.

Community service comes naturally to Lutton. She currently serves on the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as well as the American Heart Association’s Metro Tampa Board of Directors.

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Lutton holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
