Employees at the Mercedes-Benz Vans (MBV) facility in Ladson now have an on-site medical center, thanks to a partnership with Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s new occupational medical center.
A registered nurse, employed by MBV, an athletic trainer, and a Roper St. Francis physical therapist, will staff the new occupational medical center. According to MBV staff, the most common injuries are among new employees learning to use the facility’s equipment. The center includes an exam room, physical therapy space, and an audiogram room for hearing tests. A telemedicine unit, where occupational medical physicians can examine patients remotely, is also being planned.
The center is operates during normal business hours for now. As the MBV adds after-hour shifts, Roper St. Francis will add personnel. Roper St. Francis currently operates three hospitals across the tricounty region and will open a fourth hospital in Carnes Crossroads in late 2019. Congratulations to our newest team members!
